CYBER ESSENTIALS
Backed by the Government, Cyber Essentials is a programme that helps you guard your organisation against common cyber threats.
Completed as a self-assessment, the Cyber essentials certification ensures that you are protected from a wide range of serious cyber threats. This is critical because being vulnerable to basic threats will make you a target for attacks from cyber criminals.
The majority of cyberattacks are looking for targets that do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place. A Cyber Essentials certification gives you peace of mind that your defences will protect you against the vast majority of common cyberattacks.
CYBER ESSENTIALS PLUS
Cyber Essentials Plus still has the same approach as seen with Cyber Essentials. For both certifications the level of security measures you need to put in place are the same, however for Cyber Essentials Plus a hands-on technical verification is carried out.
Your Cyber Essentials Plus assessor will check and assess what antivirus, malware protection, software and network measures you have in place. Often this involves a visit to your office(s), however an assessment can be performed remotely if required.
Cyber Essentials Plus needs to be completed within three months of your Cyber Essentials basic certification.
